Teaching The Kids. De ervaringen van onze studenten

Na het SEE-eindexamen passen onze studenten de kennis toe die ze tijdens hun opleiding hebben opgedaan. Ze zijn dan zo’n 16 of 17 jaar en gaan voor circa 2 maanden lesgeven op de school in het dorp waar ze vandaan komen. Om ze goed voor te bereiden krijgen ze op de Little Angels’ School, waar ze al die jaren gestudeerd hebben, een korte training in basale didactische vaardigheden.
Wat levert TTK op?
Omdat TTK een doorlopend programma is en onze kinderen uit een beperkt aantal dorpen komen, kunnen de dorpsscholen meerder keren een van onze examenkandidaten tegemoetzien. Hierdoor krijgen de dorpskinderen enkele keren in hun schoolloopbaan een kennisboost.

Zowel de leraren in de bergdorpen als onze examenkandidaten zijn zeer enthousiast over het lesgeven in de klas. Vaak worden ze ingezet voor Engels, maar ook voor andere vakken. Soms zit de leraar achter in de klas, maar soms ook vervangen ze de leraar gedurende een aantal lessen.
Saru Lama: I taught younger brothers and sisters extra activities like art, craft and chart decoration. The students were very happy and I built a close relationship with them.
Sonika Tamang: Participating in the TTK program was truly memorable and unforgettable experience for me. It was my first time standing in front of younger brother and sisters to teach something that I had learned. At first, I was little nervous but after some days I felt comfortable with them.
Nichok Sherpa: The teachers were so happy and excited about this TTK program (Teach the Kids).
Asmita Pulami: I taught brothers and sisters the knowledge that I had learned like craft, art, and dance. I taught them English subject as well.
Saru Lama: I taught younger brothers and sisters extra activities like art, craft and chart decoration. The students were very happy and I built a close relationship with them.

De kinderen in de klas vinden het geweldig les te krijgen van een (bijna) leeftijdgenoot.
Sonika Tamang: I was thinking it would be complicated me to taught but I was wrong. All the teachers and students were collaborating with me. They all made me very comfortable to teach. As I was teaching them, I was also gaining some extra knowledge from them too. I taught them some extra activities out of book like dance, singing, craft, art and many other that I know. They were curious and happy to learn something new from me.

Asmita Pulami: I had an enjoying happy moments with all teachers and students at the time of TTK. All students were happy and were enjoying learning with me. After completion of my TTK program entire team of school appreciated and honoured me for my volunteer work which brought great impact so, that my community and family were proud of me.
